Clock No: 0934
A 1941
dial clock made by FW Elliott Ltd. The clock is a civilian
example, possibly made for Government use, although there are no marks
to confirm this.

The movement is mounted on a sub frame, as were the
clocks made in 1945 and later for the Indian Air Force. This
overcame the problem of movements detaching from the dials that occurred
with similar RAF clocks whilst in transit. We have not seen any
examples of this form of construction in a RAF clock and it is
interesting that Elliott had devised a stronger method of mounting the
movement in 1941. The serial number indicates that it was made
very early in 1941. The case is of the dark RAF 1941 colour with a
polished bezel.

The case has been restored, the movement overhauled
and the dial repainted
