Clock No:  0832c

Stock No: 832C

A rare 1943 RAF white dial clock made by FW Elliott Ltd.  Our records show that Elliott made around 20,000 clocks for the RAF but only about 1800 were made in 1943 and the majority of these were sector clocks.  This is the first 1943 RAF white dial clock that we have offered for sale.  The wartime shortages of imported materials (due to the successful U-boat blockade) led to the clock-case being made of native woods, in this case beech, although the war-time tone-down varnish almost disguises this.

Stock No: 832C

The clock is made to a superb pre-war standard with a cast brass bezel and a mahogany case.  It is finished to the wartime 'tone down' standard with a matt black finish to the bezel and with the mahogany case finished in a dark shade.

Stock No: 832C

The case has been re-polished, the dial restored and the movement has been stripped, cleaned and overhauled.
