These books are largely unsigned and marked although all are form Johnnie Johnson's collection and purchased at auction in Sheffield in 2004.  They are being sold here with a certificate of authenticity and a photocopy of the auction catalogue.

Fighter Tactics and Strategy 1914 -1970 

Written by Edwards Sims, an American fighter pilot during WW2, this acclaimed book is an authoritative study.  The forward is by Johnnie Johnson but there is no hand written note from the author.

Briefed To Attack  

AM Sir Hugh Lloyd was AOC Mediterranean in Malta in1941 and 1942.  This is his account, published in 1949, of the crucial air war over Malta, which resulted in much of the Axis shipping taking supplies to Rommel in the desert being sunk.  From the collection of Johnnie Johnson and acquired from the Station library of HQ 3 Group, then based at RAF Mildenhall.  The boards are well rubbed and dirty although the pages themselves are in good condition.

Little Friends 

An account published in 1991 of the fighter pilot experience in escort work in WWII Great Britain, by Philip Kaplan and Andy Saunders.  A large and lavish book, well researched and written from a late twentieth century point of view, many of the interviews recounting the present day feelings of eighty year old pilots.

The Battle OF Britain

Edited by Richard Townshend Bickers, the authors include AM Sir Denis Crowley-Milling, Bill Gunston, and AVM Johnnie Johnson, whilst contributors include Ginger Lacey, Paddy Barthropp, Bobby Oxspring, Al Deere, Pete Brothers, and Adolf Galland.  The book was published in 1990 to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the Battle Britain.  It has three-dimensional diagrams illustrating the major day’s events of the battle.
