We
sell vintage wooden propellers from WW1
and RAF clocks including the rare sector clock. We are an
authority on these two subjects and sell books on:
British WW1
Propellers
German WW1 Propellers
RAF Clocks
If you already have an RAF fusee clock please let us
know the type and serial number from the back of the
movement. We are building up a database which is beginning to
reveal the pattern of how these clocks were manufactured.
Our RAF clock stock includes:
Mantel Clocks.
Often referred to as RAF Sergeants' and Officers' Mess clocks.
These are usually oak but very occasionally were made in high grade
mahogany.
Wall Clocks,
including dial clocks used as office clocks on RAF Stations.
Sector Clocks which were
used in many RAF Ops Rooms for fighter control and are much associated
with the Battle of Britain.
Our clocks have been sympathetically overhauled and
restored by expert craftsmen.
Cabinet work is carried out by Rob de Ruiter and Tom
Smelt who carry out the restoration
of our propellers and clock cases.

We conserve wherever we can and where restoration is
necessary we do the least possible and retain as much originality as we
can.
Clock movements are stripped, cleaned and overhauled
by Tom.

The photos below show a stripped movement and the
final assembled result.

We photograph our sector dials before restoration and
do the least restoration possible. Generally we can save about three
quarters of the original paint by restoring only the areas that rust on
these dials, the rim and the centre.
